Just got this email from the "Messaging Comittee" for the "Great Council". Two interesting details emerge from this: Serbia will attend and they are completely ignoring the fact that three Local Orthodox Churches will not be in attendance...
~ The Messaging Committee of the Orthodox Church continues working on the Message for the Holy and Great Council ~
The Messaging Committee for the Holy and Great Council convened for the fourth day at the Orthodox Academy of Crete.
His Eminence Metropolitan Amphilohije of Montenegro, a senior Metropolitan of the Church of Serbia, presided this morning over the Divine Liturgy at the Patriarchal and Stavropegial Monastery of "Gonia".
His Eminence Metropolitan Amphilohije explained to the congregation about the importance of the Holy and Great Council which will "gather in the same place" 20-25 June in the Orthodox Academy of Crete. He added that the Council will convene with the participation of all 14 Orthodox Autocephalous Churches.
The words of His Eminence followed the message communicated by Patriarch Irinej of Serbia to His All-Holiness the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew for his name-day, in which Patriarch Irineij noted that the Church of Serbia "will contribute to a positive direction of the work of the Holy and Great Council in Crete."
The Messaging Committee is convening from the 9th to the16th June at the Orthodox Academy of Crete.
